I felt the imagery in the article was still too constrained, so I worked into a printed copy with gouache and acrylic paints. I particularly enjoy the red stripes evolving into some representation of water, and the general transition from photographic hardness to painted fluidity helps to give the work a more dream-like feel. ALTHOUGH I think this is probably too messy for what I want, it has freed me up in terms of ideas about layout.
